Is Meridian's water hard enough to need a softener?
Hard enough that most homeowners here end up wanting one. Meridian draws all of its water from deep wells, and the hardness is well above what heaters and fixtures tolerate without scaling. A softener is not required, but it extends the life of heaters, faucets, and dishwashers.
My subdivision has pressurized irrigation. Does that change anything?
It does. Your lawn water comes from a separate system, so a leak in the yard may not show on your city bill. We check both lines and the backflow assembly when we look for leaks.
